Bulls On Parade

Feira de Maio, Azambuja

Crowded streets wait for the beast, some fellows are naturally more adventurous, others wait for the adventure with a glass of wine,  but there’s always a paladin that runs back and forth enlivening the party. They say it’s the most typical…and I would agree if the echoing tune was only Fado and Portuguese folklore.

We walked slowly, languidly into the hall, leaving behind the screams and cheers towards the bull. The lights get dimmer, you start sensing the smell of red wine and Portuguese cuisine when you get to a small yard with a completely different party.

The table is set for them, for their guests, for the priests to purge their sins, for the night walkers in search for something to drink, to eat or just to boogie all night long.
